    Rain, Rain, *%&$%# RAIN!

This week of constant rain is getting depressing for a picker, and for people that have just started rebuilding after an historic flood.

I know that scrappers would probably spend this time in stripping their finds in the comfort of their garages, etc., but we're not up to that point yet - we're still at the "pick and haul" stage.

We've got water flowing over a few local d a m s (LOL - seriously?!?) and streams flooding again - when does it end?

*rhetorical question, but clever replies appreciated*

Sifu, its a good time to plan on scrapping copper wire. Many of the homes that get flooded need to have all the wires replaced. Of course I will buy whatever you get out of there.

I am sick with the rain, this was Tuesday night, the freaking creak collapsed and made a new path thru my front yard and house. We even had to be be rescued from our house by the fire department because the water was about a foot deep and running extremely fast. Here are a couple pics and a link to an album with more pics.

My condolences, CMHN. I'm just up the road from you in Hanover Township and was reading about how they thought the Huntsville Dam had been compromised. Turns out it was "only pouring over the top".

A gal I know that was a dancer at my club lives in Berwick and she lost everything - lot of bad times here, but I was out this morning and at least the sun is out for a while.

Thanks for the pictures - bittersweet, I know, but hang in there.

I lived in Trexlertown for 2 years (used to be a safety manager at Air Products) and I can't recall it ever flooding around there, so I guess you guys DID get hit pretty hard.

I think I'm starting to grow webbing between my toes.

Spend this time on your computer finding all the new places you can hit up for scraps and start making cold calls.

Places you can call to see if they will save their materials for you to haul away: Auto Repair Shops, Brake Shops, Plumbing Companies/Plumbing Supply, HVAC, Apt Complexes, Diesel Mechanic Shops, Tractor Trailer Repair Shops, Appliance Stores, Shooting Ranges, Metal Fab Shops, Storage Companies...just to start

If you don't have, research where to place and write ads and get to postin'!

Not sure how long you have been scrapping so my ideas may be old to you, I'm a newb.

Oh, I'm a newbie too! But I DID come up with a bunch of appliance repair stores in the area - I figure if one out of ten say "yes" I'll be OK.

Thank you for all the ideas!
